The Family Business History
In 1879, Fletcher Holland's great-great-grandfather, Adam Bock, opened a carriage and carpentry business on Vine Street in downtown Murfreesboro. The shop is long gone, but the business name he registered never got dissolved. "Bock & Sons" sat quietly on the county's books for well over a century.
Coming Home to Murfreesboro
Fletcher built his own career first. He earned a civil engineering degree from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, then spent ten years working across healthcare and large market construction projects around the Southeast. In 2015, he and his wife Kate moved their family back to Murfreesboro.
Restoring the Bock & Sons Name
When Fletcher started looking into what it would take to open a contracting business, he found the original Bock & Sons registration still active. In 2016, he restarted it, this time as a home builder and remodeling contractor instead of a carriage shop. While the work being done may have changed, what Fletcher kept was the standard: build something you would want your own name attached to for the next hundred years.
Bock & Sons Today
Over ten years in, Bock & Sons builds custom homes, manages high-end remodels, and handles commercial build-outs for offices, restaurants, and churches across Murfreesboro. Design, budgeting, and finish selections all happen in-house, with the same small team a client meets on day one still on the job at the end.
